Card 15
The Devil
Description
Baphomet on a pedestal. A man and a woman chained, naked, growing horns of their own. Look closer: the chains are loose. They could lift them off. The Devil is the cage you stayed in after the door opened.

Upright Meanings
Something has its hooks in you. A habit, a person, a story about yourself. Short-term it gives you something. Long-term it's taking more than it gives. The trick is the part where you tell yourself you can't leave. You can. The first move is naming what's actually got you, not performing helplessness about it.
Reversed Meanings
The chain is coming off. You can see the trick now, which is most of the work. The habit, the relationship, the belief that ran your life from underneath. You're stepping back into your own power. It might not feel triumphant. Liberation tends to be quieter than you expect.
